GDI Review – Scam Or Legitimate MLM Business?

GDI Review imageWelcome to my unbiased GDI Review!

What is GDI? Global Domains International or GDI is a Multi-Level Marketing (MLM) company that owns exclusive rights to all dot ws (.ws) domains.  Due to the fact that dot com (.com) and dot net (.net) domains are becoming more and more scarce, GDI is growing in popularity among Network Marketing companies.

In this GDI Review, I will be examining this company, the products and services that they offer, and more importantly, the MLM Business opportunity that they offer as a GDI Affiliate.  Is GDI a scam, pyramid scheme, or is this a legitimate MLM Business opportunity?  This is my unbiased GDI Review.

Company details and what they are offering

GDI Logo imageBefore we continue my GDI Review, let me first explain what a domain name is:  An example of a domain name is www.yoursitename.com.

If you have ever attempted to purchase a domain name with a dot com or dot net extension, you will know that the competition is fierce.  I have purchased many domains in the past, and I quickly found that all of my best ideas were already registered.  There have been times where I have spent hours trying to find a suitable domain name that had not already been registered.  It can be a frustrating process.

Providing an alternative

GDI was founded in 2000 by CEO Michael Starr and President Alan Ezeir to provide an alternative solution by promoting their dot ws extensions, removing much of the competition for those registering domain names.  Under the dot ws extension, you will again have an unlimited supply of unclaimed domain names. When you register a domain name with GDI, your url will look like www.yoursitename.ws

MLM Business – Getting started and how it works…

Global Domains International Review imageGDI markets their dot ws domains through a Multi-Level Marketing or Networking Marketing distributing channel.  Through this business model, GDI will compensate anyone who is willing to spread the word about GDI with others.

The cost!

The cost to join GDI will be $10 per month.  For this monthly investment, you will receive:

  • Your own domain name
  • Hosting accounts
  • Up to ten email accounts
  • Web Site Builder
  • Opportunity to participate as a GDI Affiliate

Further more, GDI removes all risk by letting potential Affiliates try out their products and services for free for the first 7 days.

When you participate as a GDI Affiliate, you will receive $1 per month for every person who commits to their $10 per month domain package, going down as far as 5 levels in your organization.

Affiliate Training & Support

GDI Affiliates imageThe idea behind growing a GDI business is relatively simple.  GDI encourages their new Affiliates to simply go out and find 5 new members.  Once you have achieved this, you will train your 5 to go out and find 5 of their own.  This process will be completed through out 5 levels of your business.

Potential earnings

Once your 5 level matrix is completed, you will be earning $3,900 in monthly commissions.  Of course, no one is limited to how many people they can refer.  Every affiliate can grow their organizations infinitely wide.  However, your compensation will be limited to 5 generations, excluding one exception that I will talk about in my next review of the GDI Compensation Plan.

I will limit the details of their compensation plan to this, and at the bottom of this GDI Review, you will find a link that outlines the exact details regarding the GDI Compensation Plan.

With GDI operating under a MLM Business model, you will be encouraged to promote GDI among your warm market of friends, family members, acquaintances, associates, etc.

GDI Review Conclusion

In my opinion, GDI is a very legitimate MLM Business opportunity.  In fact, even though I am not an Affiliate, GDI is one of my favorite MLM companies.

With that fact that $10 per month is your only investment, their is very little risk involved.  Even if the business opportunity were to not work out, their domain name registration and hosting services are well worth the monthly cost.  Hosting alone can cost more than $10 per month through other sources.

Food for thought…

My only hesitation in regards to GDI is this:  I would personally not purchase a dot ws domain until they reach the same level of popularity as dot com or dot net domains.  This is only because I rely highly on Search Engine Optimization for my business.  Google and other search engines favor dot com and dot net extensions over other domains when they are listing sites in their search results.  However, this is just my personal preference.

With that being said, I believe that GDI offers a solid business opportunity with very little risk!

I hope that you have found my GDI Review to be informative and educational!  I wish you the best of luck in your Home Business search!

  2. not bad for one who’s not into it …that was such a honest review. I’m into and still searching my way to make money here but you’re right; although a good alternative .com .net or .org is still preferable, not unless we see a .ws with pr5 or pr6 into it ..right Dave?

Quite honestly, I am not very familiar with how much page rank plays into all of this, but I would imagine that page rank is a good indication.
