Jewels By Park Lane Review imageWelcome to my Jewels By Park Lane Review!

Is the Jewels By Park Lane Business opportunity a scam, or do they offer a legitimate MLM Business selling Jewels By Park Lane jewelry?

In this Jewels By Park Lane Review, I will be providing some history on this company, and reviewing the fine details of this MLM business to give you the information that you need to make your home based business decision.  This is my unbiased Jewels By Park Lane Review.

Company Details & History

Jewels By Park Lane Logo imageJewels By Park Lane is a Multi-Level Marketing company that is recognized as one of the world’s leading jewelry direct sales marketing company.

Founded by Arthur and Shirley LeVin in 1955, Jewels By Park Lane offers an extensive product line of fine handcrafted jewelry for every season and occasion.

Their Unconditional Guarantee

Every product is backed by their unconditional guarantee.  This guarantee will repair or replace any defected jewelry item free of charge if returned to Park Lane within the first 120 days of purchase.  If 120 days expires, there will be a $7 handling fee for jewelry items, and $12 fee for watches.

It is also important to note that if a replacement is necessary, your purchase may not be exchanged for a different item.  If your jewelry item has been discontinued, this unconditional guarantee will not apply.

MLM Business – How it all works…

Jewels By Park Lane Jewelry imageYou can become a Representative for a registration fee of $39.  However, very recently I was informed that this fee has been discounted to $5.

You must then purchase your starter kit.  These kits start at $199, and Jewels By Park Lane will give you the opportunity to earn your kit when you conduct your first Home Party or Show.

Jewels By Park Lane prides themselves as a business that generously rewards their Representatives with an opportunity to earn free trips, free jewelry, car allowance bonuses, recognition, and so much more as you reach qualifying milestones in your business.

Training & Support

As a Representative, you will generate sales in the form of Home Parties.  This will be the basis of your New Representative training.

You will contact your friends and family to encourage them to host a party in their home, and invite many of their friends and relatives to attend.  As you are showcasing products, you will accept orders, and recruit new Representatives into your business.

Hostess Rewards

Jewels By Park Lane offers a Hostess Rewards Program, which will provide your hostesses with free merchandise and product discounts based upon the sales that you generate in their home.

You will offer this incentive as you are scheduling your Home Parties.

Jewels By Park Lane Review Conclusion

In my opinion, Jewels By Park Lane is a very legitimate business.  They have been growing and expanding for more than 50 years, proving that they are not a scam.

They offer your customers the opportunity to shop for quality handcrafted jewelry in a fun and uplifting party setting.  You can earn a substantial income while you are enjoying the company of your loved ones.

Setting expectations…

While this is a legitimate business, it will never be as easy as it may appear.  Generating a steady income in the form of home parties will take time and a great amount of patience.

As long as you go into this business with the proper expectations, and are willing to invest the time and effort that this sort of business requires, you can do very well as a Jewels By Park Lane Representative.

Hi there! Probably this review from 2011 is no longer active. That said, I’ve attended a few Park Lane events and also have some of their jewelry. No complaints. I offer this observation: “In my opinion, Jewels By Park Lane is a very legitimate business. They have been growing and expanding for more than 50 years, proving that they are not a scam.” #1) You mayn’t use the qualifier “very” in connection with the word “legitimate”. Either a business enterprise is legitimate or it isn’t legitimate. There is no variant degree of legitimacy. Also just because a business has lasted 50 years doesn’t automatically mean it is legitimate.

    Ohh great post love it!

  3. Mandy says:

The review is great, however there are some items that are misrepresented…The “lifetime” guarantee isn’t a lifetime guarantee at all but a unconditional guarantee for 120 days. Your jewelry is only guaranteed as long as it is not discontinued. The $39 fee is only for registration which is now only $5.00 and the kit fee starts at $199 but can be earned at your first show. Park Lane is definitely a slow starter unless you get very lucky. With all the other jewelry companies around and the way the economy is going people are looking for cheap more than quality. Other companies are definitely cheaper on the surface but if you do any kind of research you will know that Park Lane has got more to offer as a jewelry direct sales company. Earnings in Park Lane are slightly lower than most of the jewelry companies and they do charge a little more for their product. On average each jewelry company offers 50% off the bat commission while park lane offers 30% with the incentive to increase to 50%. The vacations with Park Lane are phenomenal and their incentives for purchase, hosting, and consulting are definitely the best in the business.

      Hi Mandy,

What a small world! I just took a look at your website, and noticed that you are in Arlington, WA. I live in Lake Stevens!

Anyway, thank you so much for taking the time to comment and clarify a few points for me.

I have gone ahead and made some changes in my review to more accurately reflect Jewels By Park Lane, and I want to thank you for your help in doing that!

I added the details regarding Park Lane’s unconditional guarantee. Although, I might add that at the time that I wrote this Jewels By Park Lane Review, they were advertising their Lifetime Guarantee. This unconditional guarantee seems to be a new development.

I have also corrected and added your notes about the cost and details of joining Park Lane.

Again, I thank you so much for correcting me here. I always strive to provide up-to-date and accurate details regarding companies that I review. Since companies are always changing their procedures, prices, products, and the way that they do business, it is hard to maintain an up-to-date review.

It is always great to hear from Distributors who are on the inside!

Again, thanks and I wish you the best of luck in your Park Lane Business!

      Dave F.

Park Lane’s guarantee if the product has been discontinued they will replace it no matter what for a equal or lesser value item. I have been wearing Park lane for 4 years now and i love the company, I have returned 1 necklace 3 times because of my own error i have broken the reckless, they never ask why i return anything they just exchange NO Questions asked. If i were to buy at Macy’s a necklace they would not let me return it if i told them i broke it and normal wear and tear does not matter

    • samantha ross says:

It is true that other jewelry companies start you out at a commision rate of 50%, however, while working for those companies you as the consultant are financialy responsible for your hostess rewards. Park Lane takes care of that 100% In the end you make more with Park Lane because your commision isnt taken to pay for the hostess. I’ve worked a couple party plans so I know this from experience.

      • Mandy says:

        Hi Samantha,

I have to disagree with you on the Hostess Plan. While it may seem that Park Lane is taking care of the Hostess “fees” 100% it is simply in disguise. Park Lane has certain commissionable and Non-comissionable items. This is where the trick is. When a customer purchases their original item you will receive full commission for it, however, when they purchase their bonus items for 12.00 you will receive nothing but a thank you. You as a consultant also do not receive commission on hostess thank you gifts or hostess only gifts. I will say that the Hostess is responsible for the small fees of special bonus gifts such as free jewelry and directors are responsible for the $20 mini vacation option.

    • Proud Director of JBPL says:

This is not entirely true… The “guarantee” is a lifetime… If your piece of jewelry were to break and the item is discontinued, you can choose another item to the same value.

  4. Jennie says:

Good review, although as an Area Manager with Jewels by Park Lane, I do want to clarify your statement about training. Our Fashion Directors are trained at their Introductory show by their sponsor into the company, but that is by no means all the training that is offered by Jewels by Park Lane. While I cannot speak to other areas of the country, here in the St. Louis area we offer monthly training opportunities and leaders in the area are encouraged to go to show with ladies and gentlemen on their team, and also invite members from their team to go to shows with them. This provides a multitude of opportunities for new Fashion Directors to learn the ropes.

    • Dave Fennell says:

      Hi Jennie,

Thank you for sharing. This is good information. The fact that local leaders are willing to attend Parties to support and train their team members is a big plus.

      Thanks again,

      Dave F.

I honestly think Paloma Cruz could have done a better job at being a party representitive. She did not explain the whole saling jewerly correctly, the benifits, the goals you need to reach and so on. She failed to mention half of the free stuff you should get if you hosted a party. The host of the party did not receive any free thank you gifts for hosting the party, nor was she even informed those were even avaliable. She didn’t even know about them until another representitive informed her a day later. I’m not real sure how long a jewerly party is suppost to take but after 5 hours she wasn’t even done telling us everything there was to know about Parklane. The representative claimed a minimum of $1000 was required in order for the hostess to receive free gifts; upon speaking to other representives it was revealed that only a $500 order is required. I personally felt she skipped out on a lot of important information we should have been informed about the company, not to mention the hostess gift. We did not receive the free gifts she told us we would receive at the beginning of the party. I was really dissapointed overall on her preformence and think she should mention way more facts about the company that she does. To get more people to join I think honesty is the best policy and should be strictly inforced.

    • katrina says:

Nicole, it sounds like you got ripped off by a rep., and that’s very bad biz for all of us. A ‘qualified’ party is only $200. in retail sales, not $500.
Looking at the date of your post, your hostess should have recieved $100 in jewelry credit, just for hostessing a party. (you actually have to spend $5. for each $50, so it actually ends up being $90 in jewelry credit). Also, for each order placed, the hostess gets a $20 credit. 5 orders, $100. 7 orders, $140. 10 orders, $200. etc.
But JBPL is having a special promotion the last couple months, and If you get 10 or more items, it’s actually DOUBLED to $400 in jewelry credit, instead of $200. It sounds like the rep may have taken the hostess privileges instead of giving them to the hostess, which is not cool.
The hostess also gets to pick a ‘thank you’ gift for $14, can shop from the ‘hostess only’ pieces, gets 4 items half price……if your hostess didn’t get any of these things, please tell her to contact JBPL @800.621.0088 so they might take appropriate action.

      • katrina says:

That should have read; If you get 10 or more ORDERS, not items…….

      • Gary says:

I have a question my wife is starting parkLane and I promised to order enough at her hostess party to lock her in as a Rep. The lady doing the show made me spend a total of $800 this was only $500 net plus around $300 no net and says she still needs to sell/buy nearly $200 to be locked in is this right?

        • katrina says:

Gary, when your wife becomes a rep, she receives a start kit (valued at $1,000) , for $5. That is her start date. She then has 30 days from her start date to have $1,000 in sales. You/she, don’t have to spend a dime, other than the $5. She gets her own friends/family to hostess parties. That’s how she makes her sales quota. Once she makes $1,000 in sales, she is ‘locked in’. She should have either hostessed her own party, or had a friend hostess for her to make her $1,000 in sales. She still needs $200 net and non, but she should be hostessing a party to make this, not make you pay. Maybe her director is confused.

        • katrina says:

Also, they will take $150. out of her commission check from that qualifying $1,000 to pay for the ‘$5’ kit. Still, no money up front to start up, so it’s a pretty good deal.

          • Dave Fennell says:

            Hi Katrina,

Thank you so much for clarifying this for Gary. I was going to research this information, but you saved me a ton of time. Thanks so much!

            Dave F.

  6. Kathryn G says:

One more clarification from this Area Manager in Illinois. The $5.00 or standard $39.00 fee is for registration. Your first $500.00 in net sales pays for the Starter Kit. Everything above the first $500.00 in sales begins as commissionable sales. Most fashion directors will start as a hostess, so any addtional monies he/she decides to spend is their own choice, but is a fantastic way to begin to build a collection to show at a deeply, deeply discounted cost. All of which are tax deductible for your business. Their upline will be the “Sales Director” at her first show to demonstrate how its done. They are then required to attend an initial training workshop and are offered monthly training sessions as well. You receive booklets and a video to study. The sales support is amazing as well as the sales incentive and the caring family environment that extends across the nation to all levels of directors. I say try it. What’s the worse that can happen? You get some really beautiful jewelry! (and by the way, you will get a shopping credit if your piece has been discontinued and needs to be exchanged).

  7. Judy Wiley says:

If the Sales Rep. makes 30% commission from the jewelry she sells, how is this a MLM company? Does the upline from the Sales Rep. receive a percentage or commission from what the Sales Rep. sells?

    • Dave Fennell says:

      Judy,

Yes, that is correct. Upline representatives receive a portion of sales achieved by their downline, making this a MLM business model.
